La Favorita Italia and Saitek present SCC

September 22, 2025

La Favorita Italia Srl, a Modena-based company specialising in industrial automation for the ceramic sector, has teamed up with Saitek Srl to develop an innovative system for managing the air-gas ratio in industrial burners: SCC, the Stoichiometric Combustion Control System.

Saitek Srl, based in Reggio Emilia, has many years of experience in the design and manufacture of electronic equipment for industrial plants. Its expertise spans burner electronics, sensors, control systems and electrical panels.

SCC was developed to meet the needs of the ceramic industry, where precise combustion is essential to ensure energy efficiency, product quality and operational flexibility. At the heart of the system is a modulating air-gas valve that automatically adjusts air pressure in response to gas pressure in order to keep the desired stoichiometric ratio constant.

This new air-gas system for stoichiometric combustion control has already been in use at a leading ceramics company for about a month.

The system is composed of certified transducers to measure air and gas pressures, proportional actuators for continuous air-valve adjustment, an electronic control unit and a digital interface for communication with supervision systems.

It uses standard 4-20 mA industrial signals and can be integrated into existing automation systems. The control algorithm calculates the stoichiometric ratio in real time, ensuring a dynamic response even under varying load conditions.

The SCC system has been in operation for about a month at a leading producer of large-format ceramic surfaces, where it has demonstrated excellent performance in terms of process stability and reduced consumption.

A patent has already been filed and the system is available for full-scale industrial use.

With SCC, La Favorita Italia and Saitek reaffirm their commitment to technological innovation in the field of combustion, delivering intelligent and flexible solutions for a rapidly and constantly evolving sector.
